Professor Jonathan C. Roberts is a professor in the School of Computer Science, Bangor University, UK., He was a lecturer (Kent 1999), Senior Lecturer (Kent 2004, Bangor 2007) and became a professor in 2015. His research is focused on data visualization, visual analytics, human computer interaction and computing pedagogy. He is interested in how to analyse, visualise and interact with data, and how to sketch designs and make appropriate designs. He is the creator of the Five Design-Sheet methodology, and author of the book Five Design-Sheets: Creative Design and Sketching for Computing and Visualisation, Springer Nature, June 2017. He focuses on heritage and archaeology, oceanography, pedagogy, and social networking domains, Prof Roberts’ hypothesis is that by displaying the data in several different ways, and allowing the user to highly interact with it, then the user gains a better understanding of their data.

Professor Andrew Ware, Professor of Computing, Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Science, University of South Wales, UK.

As Professor in Computing, Andrew is engaged in both teaching and research. He is currently supervising eight PhD students and leading on a number of initiatives with local companies.

Beyond the University, Professor Ware is currently working as external examiner in Computing for Staffordshire University, with particular responsibility for helping to oversee the development of new provision in Ghana. In terms of international work, Professor Ware is currently the USW representative on two European Funded Intensive Programmes and involved with projects in Singapore, Norway and Canada.

High Performance Computing (HPC) Wales is an innovative collaboration that gives businesses and researchers access to world-class, secure and relatively easy to use HPC technology. USW is one of the partners in the collaboration and has devolved targets in terms of industrial usage, student engagement, as well as research and curriculum development. Professor Ware is the lead academic from USW on this exciting and dynamic project.

Andrew has supervised nearly 30 PhD students and has lead on collaborative projects both within the UK and Europe. He has lectured in many parts of the World including the USA, Canada, Singapore and Hong Kong. His main research interest is the application of AI techniques to help solve real world problems.

Abdullah Uz Tansel received his BS in management, and his MS and PhD degrees in computer science from the Middle East Technical University, in Ankara Turkey. He has also received his MBA degree at the University of Southern California. After being a faculty member at the Middle East Technical University, Dr. Tansel joined Baruch College, the City University of New York (CUNY) where he is currently a professor of information systems and also a professor of computer science at The Graduate Center of CUNY. Professor Tansel’s research focus is on temporal databases and he has made significant contributions in this field. He also headed the editorial board that published the first book on temporal databases ‘Temporal Databases: Theory, Design, and Implementation’ (1993). Dr. Tansel has a patent on adding temporality to RDF. His research interests are Database Management Systems, Temporal Databases, Semantic Web, and Blockchain Databases. Dr. Tansel has published many articles in the conferences and journals of the ACM, IEEE and other associations. He is a frequent speaker on time in databases and blockchain as a database. He is also a member of the ACM and the IEEE Computer Society.

Professor Seifedine Kadry, has a Bachelor degree in 1999 from Lebanese University, MS degree in 2002 from Reims University (France) and EPFL (Lausanne), PhD in 2007 from Blaise Pascal University (France), HDR degree in 2017 from Rouen University. At present his research focuses on Data Science, education using technology, system prognostics, stochastic systems, and applied mathematics. He is an ABET program evaluator for computing, and ABET program evaluator for Engineering Tech. He is a Fellow of IET, Fellow of IETE, and Fellow of IACSIT. He is a distinguish speaker of IEEE Computer Society.
